Married Margaret Mary Appleyard at Maidenhead in December 1939.

They had two children Richard and Anne.

Moved to Kenya after the war.

dear mrs sparrow, just a few lines to let you all no i am o k and had a safe journey. we are among the arabs and mosquitoes they live a bit different to us, we shall soon get tanned with heat. the farmers seem to grow fruit mainly in this field they get cheap work done, with the arabs, one thing we have to be carefull about is going about in the dark by ourselfs, there seems to be now tractors hear nothing but donkeys mules and arab ponys, if we go out on a night for a drink we have to take our mugs with us, there seems to be no beer all wines and if you don't mind you can get drugged with them, you would be surprised when you got to no i had gone over to north africa. well i will have to close now cheerio, from your old f. charlie.t.
